Jake Gyllenhaal will reprise the role of Patrick Swayze in the Roadhouse remake.
Famous in 1989 with Patrick Swayze, road house featured a nightclub bouncer with a mysterious past who sets up his new ways of working in a disreputable nightclub before tackling local corruption. In the remake which will be broadcast on the Amazon Prime Video streaming platform, Jake Gyllenhaal will play a former UFC fighter who, according to the official synopsis, accepts a job as a bouncer at a speakeasy in the Florida Keys, but quickly discovers that all is not what it seems in this tropical paradise. Filming is due to begin later this month in the Dominican Republic.

Conor McGregor will make his film debut in Road House
Road House will be directed by Doug Liman (The Bourne Identity, The Edge of Tomorrow, Mr. & Mrs. Smith) and written by Anthony Bagarozzi (The Nice Guys) and Charles Mondry. Joel Silver, who produced the original film, is returning to oversee the reboot through Silver Pictures. JJ Hook, Alison Winter and Aaron Auch will serve as executive producers. The cast includes Billy Magnussen, Daniela Melchior, Gbemisola Ikumelo, Lukas Gage, Hannah Love Lanier, Travis Van Winkle, BK Cannon, Arturo Castro, Dominique Columbus, Beau Knapp, Bob Menery and Conor McGregor, who will play an original character and not a version of himself.
