Whether you’re coming back from vacation, or it’s your turn to leave, finally, Amazon Prime Video has planned something to entertain you in this new month of August! On the program: football, lots of football, but also some shock films to discover exclusively on the platform…
Let us first note that the saga IndianaJones arrives, this August 1, on Amazon Prime Video. Worth pointing out, right? And that’s not all. Many other films also enrich the platform’s catalog on this first day of the month, for example the cult comedy Didier by Alain Chabat, the thriller Counter-investigation with Jean Dujardin, or the Starting point and Botswang Crocodilea by Thomas Ngijol and Fabrice Éboué. But what interests us here are the programs that Prime Video will offer exclusively. And there too, there will be plenty to do!
04/08: All or Nothing – Arsenal
We start with football, a subject that will clearly punctuate the next few days on Amazon Prime Video. While we can say that the month of August will indeed be placed under the sign of football on the platform, with the resumption of the championship which will again be to be followed via the Pass Ligue 1 offer, hostilities will start the day before. , with a most anticipated documentary series accessible to all Prime subscribers: a new All or Nothing. We announced it to you last year, this time it was in the Arsenal locker room that the streaming giant’s cameras landed, to follow the 2021-22 season of the famous London club. A program not to be missed, starting August 4 on Prime Video.
05/08: League 1
After which, it’s time for French football! Fans, rejoice: Ligue 1 will be making a comeback at the end of the week. And it’s a Lyon – Ajaccio poster that will kick off the new season, this Friday August 5th. A match which will therefore be followed on Amazon Prime Video, via its famous Ligue 1 Pass. Remember that the platform will broadcast 8 matches per day, having also secured the 10 best posters in the championship for this new 2022-23 financial year. Later in the month, it is thus a crisp PSG – AS Monaco which awaits us on Prime Video, precisely on August 28th.
08/05: Thirteen Lives
For those who are more fans of cinema than football, next August 5 will also mark the release of a new film on the platform. A film worthy of the big screen, which will also be broadcast in a few dark rooms across the Atlantic, but for which Prime Video has thus offered itself exclusivity in France: Thirteen Lives, the new feature film by Ron Howard, with a shock cast. Colin Farrell, Viggo Mortensen and Joel Edgerton star in this drama based on an incredible true story. The one that circled the planet in 2018, when a young Thai football team found themselves trapped in Tham Luang cave after a storm. Immersion in “the largest rescue operation in the world“.
08/19: First Love
Notice to the great romantics! Break out the popcorn and prepare the box of tissues: Amazon Prime Video will reveal soon First Love, a drama which, as its name suggests, tells the story of a first love. That of Jim, a high school student who discovers the joys of coming of age, not only through his passionate but complicated relationship with Ann, his first love therefore, but also because of difficulties within his family, which suffers the fallout from the 2008 financial crisis. Need a good argument to convince you? This new film is carried by Hero Fiennes Tiffin, aka THE star ofAfter, aka THE essential romantic saga of the platform. At her side, we find in the role of Ann the young Sydney Park (seen in particular on Netflix in Moxie and Killer Game), as well as Diane Kruger and Jeffrey Donovan on the adult side. See you on August 19 to discover this new little nugget.
08/26: The Samaritan
Last but not least, would you like a bit of Sylvester Stallone to finish? The illustrious actor will take over the platform at the end of the month, in a role he has never played before: that of a superhero! But not a superhero like the ones from Marvel or DC, don’t worry. While his Samaritan looks more like a Rocky, inevitably, this film will offer us another approach to the genre. The pitch? 20 years ago, the greatest hero to ever walk our planet died after a tragedy. But one day, a young boy who is the victim of harassment makes an incredible discovery: the one we call the Samaritan is still alive, living his old age in complete anonymity… A film that is definitely a punch, to discover from August 26 next exclusively on Prime Video.
As always, this is just a small selection of the many upcoming releases on the platform. We invite you to consult its program for the whole month of August, freshly revealed on social networks:
