Insurance required, Covid PCR test / Antigen ATK?

The conditions for entering Thai territory are changing and you have to be careful to be up to date when you leave on your trip. Currently, a Thailand Pass is mandatory to travel to Thailand, regardless of the number of days planned, with or without Thailand Visa.

However, other formalities must be respected to travel to Thailand, in particular travel insurance, and a PCR or Antigenic ATK test for those who have not been vaccinated..

Is a Covid PCR or Antigenic ATK test mandatory before leaving for Thailand?

To travel to Thailand and obtain a Thailand Pass, you must:

– 1 EU vaccination certificate with min. 2 doses for at least 14 days recovered on Ameli

WHERE
– 1 negative PCR or Antigen test taken less than 72 hours before departure.

The test obligation is therefore only mandatory for those who have not been vaccinated.

Please note: In the case of a rapid antigenic test (also called ATK), this must be carried out by a professional, in this case most often a pharmacy in France, self-tests being refused.

Is there a Covid test on arrival in Thailand?

Until May 1, 2022, each traveler was required to spend one night in an SHA Extra + hotel which took care of carrying out a Covid PCR test for the 1st night in Thailand.

This requirement has been removed. No test is now carried out, whether you are vaccinated or not.

Which Covid insurance to go to Thailand?

As part of a stay in Thailand, it is necessary to take out a nominative “covid-19” insurance. The insurance must be written in English, it must cover medical and hospitalization costs including Covid-19, under the following conditions:

– Stay of less than 30 days without a visa: coverage of at least $10,000 (or €10,000) with a minimum duration of 30 days from arrival.

– Stay with e-visa or re-entry Tourism TR, STV, Family O, Business B, Elite: coverage of minimum $10,000 (or €10,000) with a minimum duration of 3 months from arrival.

– Stay with e-visa or re-entry O+50: cover of minimum $100,000 (or €85,000) with a minimum duration of 6 months from arrival.

– Stay with e-visa or re-entry OA: minimum coverage of $100,000 (or €85,000) with a duration of 1 year from arrival.

Do you need a visa to travel to Thailand during the Covid period?

French and European nationals need an electronic visa to enter Thailand only if the trip exceeds 30 days. The e-visa has replaced the visa since September 2021.

With or without a visa, you must obtain a “Thailand Pass” with a passport valid for at least 6 months.

The Thailand Pass for a trip to Thailand

For any trip, a “Thailand Pass” is mandatory, which we can obtain for you, alone or with e-visa.

The Thailand Pass is mandatory to enter Thailand during the Covid period:
– For a trip of less than 30 days without a visa.

– 1 insurance certificate in English, covering covid for at least €10,000 in medical expenses.
– 1 EU vaccination certificate with at least 2 doses for at least 14 days recovered from Ameli, OR 1 negative PCR or Antigen test taken less than 72 hours before departure.
– 1 Exit flight within 30 days, OR a printed e-visa.
(+ 1 Certificate of compelling reason for non-vaccinated in direct flight).
