Maif launches an insurance dedicated to the protection of bicycle delivery people. The offer will be offered in particular to members of the CoopCycle federation, which brings together all the cyclology cooperatives.

Accompanying the strong development of cyclologistics in France, Maif announces the launch of an insurance product dedicated to delivery riders by bicycle. The mutual insurer, which already covers “Les Coursiers Niortais”, wishes to target the fifty cooperatives of bicycle couriers currently active in France. “In this still very young sector of activity, finding an insurer is a real problem: structures are faced with unsuitable products or rates, or even refusal of insurance”explains the mutualist in a press release.
To do this, Maif will rely on the CoopCycle (international federation of bicycle delivery cooperatives) which will offer its members this dedicated offer that it has co-constructed with the mutualist.

The insurance offered to the employees and managers of these cooperatives includes in particular a basic base consisting of a general RC (or a RC Pro), legal protection, individual accident cover, cover damage to personal property in the context of missions (premises, bicycles and goods transported) as well as assistance. Requested by the editorial staff, Maif specifies that the pension and health components can be integrated as an option via a partner.

“Over the past year, we have found in Maif an interlocutor attentive to our needs, with whom we have been able to build a suitable insurance product. We also share the democratic nature of our organizations and are therefore delighted with this collaboration between the cooperative and mutualist worlds for a serene development of our activities on French territory.”explains in a press release Alexandre Segura, the founder of CoopCycle.

For its part, Maif is continuing its policy of commitment to companies with a positive impact, the mutualist claiming more than 500 cooperative structures insured in its portfolio.
