As reported a few days ago, Discord voice chat is coming to Xbox consoles, with beta testing already underway in the Xbox Insiders program. Microsoft said the feature is coming “soon”, but it won’t be as soon as some had hoped, as the implementation of Discord voice chat has apparently been pushed back.
The reason? So far, all we have to do is a tweet from Xbox Insider program manager Brad Rossetti, who cited account linking issues.
Xbox Insiders here are our confirmed flight plans for today:
1.2208 to beta at 2:00 PM PDT
2.2208 at Delta at 4:00 p.m. PDT
We are not extending Discord functionality to beta today as we are working on current issues with account linking. Relnotes incoming from @xboxinsider— Brad Rossetti (@WorkWombatman) July 21, 2022
Release notes for both beta and delta previews of the latest version of the Xbox operating system have been posted on Xbox Wire. A voucher for those participating in the Xbox Insiders program is also available.

No doubt whatever issues there are with the introduction of Discord voice chat on Xbox the team will eventually work through, although this delay will surely come as a disappointment to those who have been eagerly waiting to see Discord chat made available. mainstream Xbox games as soon as possible. .
