The scriptwriters therefore submitted a lot of ideas inspired by the trilogy, especially on characters already identified. Prime opted for that of Payne and his sidekick Patrick McKay, which reconciles two elements: novelty with the exploration of the Second Age of Tolkien’s universe and familiarity by offering a story highlighting the elf Galadriel (popularized by the six films of Peter Jackson) and the fearsome Sauron, already antagonist of the Lord of the Rings.

Chronologically, the series takes place 7000 years before the famous trilogy created by author JRR Tolkien and looks back on the creation of the rings of power, the history of the island kingdom of Númenor, the rise of Sauron and the last alliance between the Elves. and men.

It is scheduled for 5 seasons, the first of which begins on September 2 on Prime Video.
